- Cute things they did: Z lectured the cat on how to be good to her sister cats
- Another cute thing they did: A told me she’s going to put herself to bed when she gets bigger. And wash the dishes. And open the door. And do laundry. (I can hardly wait.)
- Any more cute things they did: Z sings “Rainbow rainbowrainbow RainBOW..” (x25), A learned to shout “Oh, Bummer!” (or, “Oh BUMha!” as she puts it)
- Current and ongoing obsessions: A- Purple and Fairies, “Do you like haunted houses?”; Z- carrying a lot of toys around with her everywhere
- Interesting activities for today: Made brownies with M&M’s with N.
- New thing they learned: M&M’s taste really good and they also come without baked goods attached!
- Educational activity they did today: Alphabet puzzle with word sounds w/N., Ipad EduKitty
- What they learned from it: If you poke EduKitty it meows
- What they watched on TV: Peppa Pig, My Neighbor Totoro (the source of “Do you like haunted houses”)
- Cute things overheard on the monitor: Last night they sang “Keep Trying” from YoGabbaGabba for no apparent reason to each other
- Uhhh.. moments: What did A say? Exactly? “A total d…”?
- Food: “Please no more… chicken in lunch… box” -Z speaking for both of them
- Sick?: Z – maybe, sniffles, A – seems fine
Cat Toys and Kids

If you’re a cat person with kids you may have already noticed this. Cat toys fascinate small kids.
They love the rolling trackball. It’s just their speed. They think the squeaky mice are wonderful. Crinkle balls? Love ’em. That’s a cat tree? No, it’s not, it’s a great jungle gym.
The ultimate cat toy/toddler cross over?
Laser dot is the uncatchable, incredibly alluring, interactive toy. Shine laser dot down on the kids from upstairs (if you’re housing enabled) and watch the fun. The first time we did this Munchkin A squealed and shouted and soon Munchkin B had joined the fun. They scampered, they crawled, they slapped and shouted. “Look, Mama, dot!!” Of course it was Dada who was doing it, just like he used to tease the cats pre-kid days. Lots of fun. Lots of videos.
(Of course cat toys are not meant for kids. We certainly don’t recommend the for human children. Nope.)
So what’s happening with this blog?
There’s quite a gap between May and September. Lots of things can happen in this long gap. (Mind the gap.)
So I came to the conclusion that although I had the desire to make an absolutely beautiful, cool, up to date blog, I do not have the time. I look around the house and see projects/chores/cleaning needed everywhere. What did I do in the time between May and September? I cleaned a lot of things. I organized and updated a lot of things. I bought a sh*tl… of things. I took care of the kids at the same time. With help. Oh, and I played Shin Megami Persona Portable and a bunch of BigFish games. What else? I took care of the cats and then did minor repairs to the house and planned for the next stage of the kids’ education. Oh, and I did a little more work with jewelry.
I finally came to the conclusion that I’m never going to have the time in conjunction with the will to make this blog better. It’s September. I found that I did still have the impulse to write little things about my day but was holding off because this medium wasn’t set up. So here. I set it up. Now, I’ll write.

Hi! I’m working on my first blog and am having to learn WordPress as fast as I can. Rather than put up a temporary page until this website is ready I’m just letting it all hang out there (mostly because I’m not sure how to preview the page while it’s under construction unless it’s connected to the dns server). I taught myself html way back when and I learned flash for fun so how hard can this be?
